The Meybrunn/Heath Family

Levi grew up on his family's farm just outside of small-town Oketo, KS. Right in this area is where his great great grandparents on the Meybrunn side settled just over 150 years ago. The Meybrunns raised a variety of livestock, but to this day, continue to pride themselves in row crop production.

The Heath side of the family originally settled in Vermillion, Kansas in the 1800's, where they raised livestock and milked dairy cows. Levi's great grandfather then came to the area of Summerfield, Kansas where the family's beef production blossomed and continues today.

At a young age, Levi latched onto the family's love for agriculture and was eager to learn valuable industry lessons from his grandparents. Levi's parents, Jon & Cristi Meybrunn, raised their four children in the same setting, giving them the opportunity to build lifelong skills and develop a passion for agriculture.

The Christen/Othmer Family

Outside of Steinauer, NE is where Dana calls home. Her great great great grandparents on the Othmer side settled outside of Elk Creek, NE in the early 1840's. Throughout the generations there, they prided themselves in row-crop, hog, and beef production.

On the Christen side, her great great grandparents originally settled around Nebraska City, Nebraska in the early 1870's. From there, they migrated to Steinauer, NE where they planted their roots, allowing the family's beef cattle operation to blossom and still thrive today.

Living in close proximity, Dana spent a lot of time learning wisdom from her grandparents who played a large role in her agriculture interests. Dana's parents, Rod & Amy Christen, along with her aunt, Kay Christen, raised her and her two siblings in this industry and cultivated a path towards a successful & enjoyable livelihood within livestock production.

Levi & Dana

In August 2015, Levi, along with his three older siblings, transferred to Lewiston Consolidated Schools where Dana had been in attendance since Kindergarten. Levi & Dana quickly became friends, but officially started dating in September 2018. From then on, their favorite "dates" generally included doing tasks on the farm/ranch together. Upon completion of high school, they began visualizing their future together while chasing their personal aspirations.

Levi attended Southeast Community College where he earned his Associate's Degree in Livestock Management & Production in 2023. After earning his degree, Levi started up his own fencing company, Meybrunn Fencing, where he builds custom fence for customers.

Dana graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 2023 where she earned her Bachelor's in Animal Science & minored in Agribusiness, Grazing Livestock Systems, and the Nebraska Beef Industry Scholars. While in school, she completed an internship with the USDA Farm Service Agency where she is now working full-time in farm loans.

During all of this, Levi & Dana stayed active in supporting youth county fairs, continued to grow their beef and sheep herds, and began dreaming of expanding the operation to offer our family-raised meats to people across the nation.

Where are we now? We got married in early April 2024 and couldn't be happier. Dana is settled into her full-time job and Levi is working hard to complete fencing projects for clients. In and amongst everything going on, we have decided to start our dream of direct-to-consumer meat marketing. It is our ultimate goal to offer people an affordable, family-raised meat product while allowing them to see exactly how that product was raised. We are incredibly excited to be your producer and we can't wait for you to try what we have to offer.
